VLOGS 3

Hello and hello

What's going on with this vlog?!? It is about ODSA, Ontario Deaf Sports Association. Last March 23rd, we had Tri-O Annual General Meeting in London and after two organizational meetings, then OSDA had their meeting and election.  It was announced that I am the president of ODSA among other different positions. See those names on the list, I want to congratulate them for being part of ODSA.

First, I wanted to thank Dana McCarthy, former president and Susan DaDalt , former secretary of ODSA. They have worked hard to keep ODSA running, for that I want to thank them so much.  They are still part of our board, their current positions are director at large specifically focusing and making plan for 2026 Canada Deaf Games in Edmonton, Alberta. Again, I wanted to thank them for keeping ODSA on its feet.

For this term, the goals over the next two years for our team are as follows:
               1) to recruit youth - I created 6 different regions as you saw that on the list with names.  Those 6 created areas are based on school board regions. With that, each region we will be focus on recruiting youth.
               2) to apply for grants in hopes of getting money for the organization.
               3) to implement different tournaments and activities for each region for FUN. For instance, a popular sport right now is pickleball which was already implemented in some regions. It is not ODSA's desire to have them under ODSA but to work with them. The focus for ODSA is to have a “communication” hub to exchange information on sports.

I would like you to “share” this vlog and I encourage you to click on “like” or “thumb-up” on social media platforms.  The more people who "like" and "thumbs-up" will bring more publication about us which means Deaf youth may see our platforms and they may want to join us for sports or activities. This will help us to expand the number of “athletes.”  Honestly, we have noticed that there is a huge gap with the age groups.  Right now, we have a large of Deaf participants aging from 30 to 70 and there are few who are younger. So, we need to draw their attention by sharing this vlog.

Also please congratulate people who are on the list and wish them best of luck.

Thank you for watching.
